Crazy next few days ahead, but I’m really looking forward to it.
We’re lucky enough to be hosting Mark Horvath, the creator of InvisiblePeople.tv, here in NW Arkansas as he makes his way across the US to Washington, D.C. to speak at The Idea Camp. A small group of us just signed up to attend, so tell us if you want to go along.
I don’t formally know Mark yet, but I’m anxious to get to spend a few days with him…listening. He has an incredible story of going from affluence to homelessness and how his passion for showing the real faces of homelessness in an effort “to get us mad enough to do something.” KLRC did a two part interview with him that aired on Wednesday, and you can listen to a small portion of Mark’s work by downloading it from KLRC (link to Mark Horvath interview).
We have a busy few days starting early tomorrow morning with some time at
Seven Hills Homeless Center, media interviews, time at NW Arkansas Women’s Shelter and Samaritan Community Center. Then the main event…1,287.
We rest a little Saturday and then we are visiting some homeless camps in South Fayetteville on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon we have a special surprise for Mark. A University of Arkansas Art Professor (Bethany Springer) has some of her work to share. And, then he is off on Monday.
I’ll be posting twitter updates along the way (http://www.twitter.com/mikerusch), so listen in for some behind the scenes updates, pictures, etc.
Okay…here we go.
