The True Size of Africa

It’s with great joy that we have opportunity to share that not 1, but 2 water projects have been completed in Kenya as a result of the work done by Faith Victory Orphans House & Well Communities

Story Posted on Cobblestone Project Website:  Faith Victory Kenya Water Projects are Complete

I was honored to meet Kidmia Board Member Beau Fornett and Kidmia’s Ethiopian director Aschalew Abebe earlier this month when they came to NW Arkansas.

It was humbling to have both in our home & hear them speak of Ethiopia, the orphan and the solutions they are working toward.

Take the time to listen to Aschalew’s message at Watermark Church.  It is powerful & beautiful.

Aschalew Abebe:  Love, Give, Serve

Ethiopia has one of the highest child marriage rates in the world. 43% of girls in Ethiopia’s Amhara region are married before the age of 15. In response, the United Nations Foundation (UNF) has established educational programs throughout Ethiopia that put girls and women through school, and challenge traditional thinking on child marriage. By investing in education, the UNF hopes to inspire a change in local sentiment surrounding this sensitive cultural issue.

A Lasting Impact focuses on the personal experiences of those who have had their lives changed due to the influence of these UNF sponsored programs. The video further explores the larger implications that reforms like these create.

…so amazing to hear this album come to life.

Listen in on a few tracks from Seth Primm’s coming album “Bringing Home Beautiful”

The Mercy House exists to provide alternative options for pregnant girls living in the streets of Kenya. The Mercy House will aid them in nutrition, housing, prenatal care, counseling, Biblical teaching and job skills for sustainable living.

We are honored to have Kidmia, their in country director Aschalew & Beau Fournet in NW Arkansas this coming Sunday (Sept 26th).

Kidmia Overview

Kidmia means priority in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia. Our priority is to facilitate lasting change in the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in rural Ethiopia. To do this, Kidmia provides holistic care and shelter to children in need, while being the catalyst of their adoption into local gospel-loving families. We are driven by a passion for Jesus Christ and a desire to see the people of Ethiopia changed by His grace.

You’re invited to come and hear about this amazing organization and how they are caring for orphans in Ethiopia.

There will be a reception immediately following the Well Communities on the campus of Fellowship Bible Church of NW Arkansas starting at approx. 6:30 pm.

My life has been blessed by Mark and Tiffany and to hear their story in their own words is beautiful and inspiring.

Truly love these two and their family both here in the states and far away in Rwanda.  Until this little one is home, we will trust and pray that all things are working together for good.

Follow their story on their blog:  The Other Side of Fine (theothersideoffine.blogspot.com)

It was a year ago today that this happened.  Feels like just yesterday.

Today some incredible friends say their goodbye to the US as they take their family to begin the first East African based production facilities for Mana Nutrition.

Bret and Johnna Raymond have become heroes to me as they have literally devoted their lives to following God’s story of rescue and redemption specifically to the people of Rwanda by focusing on saving the lives of their children who are suffering and dying from Severe Acute Malnutrition.

Severe Acute Malnutrition takes the lives of approximately 2 million children every year and the largest concentration of need is based in East Africa. The good news is that It only takes about 30 lbs of therapeutic food at a cost of about $60 USD to save the lives of these children. So, there is hope.

Bret, Johnna and the Raymond family will be the face of this hope to so many, and it has been a honor to watch this story unfold. Their journey has not been easy and today there are probably more uncertainties than ever, but once their plane touches down in Rwanda life will have changed forever. However, they have made it this far and now as their labor is set on opening a production facility. We pray for their efforts, their family and for their success.

Follow their journey and please consider supporting them in anyway you can.
